Good food good mood : The legend of a lazy lady who finally cook part 1

Dark Choco Brownies
I love brownies. A lot. Like REALLLLYYY love it. I could eat a 20x20 size of brownies by myself. The secret of a delicious brownies are the combination of cooking chocolate and chocolate powder. The darker, the better. Last week, I suddenly craved for brownies, and I immediately check the ingredients supply. Everything I need is there, except one thing. The cooking chocolate. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Drah-mah....

My craving was too strong that I need to have brownies, but I was too lazy to go to supermarket to buy the cooking chocolate. Hmmm what to do? Thank you God for a technology called internet. I remember my friend, Aiko, who loves to cook has her own cooking blog food-experimentalist.blogspot.com , oh she's good, and I remember I once read her post about brownies recipe that doesn't require any cooking chocolate. I tried to make it based on recipe and it was pretty easy. The taste was not bad either. Although I prefer the one with cooking chocolate, but in case like I had, it is very handy. Here is the recipe if you want to try to make it. You can add some chocolate ice cream on it, like I did. Yummy :)

Rice Noodles with Shrimps
The second food I tried to cook last week was related with noodles. You know when sometimes you don't feel like eating rice, but you have too eat carbo to keep your tummy full and something light like potatoes just won't do? I was in that kind of state last week. Earlier that day I went to a supermarket to buy some shrimps and squids to be made into Tom Yam soup, the famous soup from Thailand. Unfortunately, the squids were out today. So, change of plan, I'd made Shrimp soup with some lemon. The ingredients are simple. You just need garlic, chilli, shrimps (of course) and lemon juice to add some sour taste into it. As I cooked the dish, I started to think, soup won't make me full. I need some carbo but I don't want to eat rice. I started rummaging into my supply cupboard and I found a package of rice noodles. I soaked the rice noodle inside a hot water for several minutes. Drain the water. Put some rice noodles into a bowl and pour some soup on top of it. Voila. It tasted good and very refreshing because of the lemon juice.
Aglio e Olio

As the week passed by, I still don't feel like eating rice. And I've been eating my fave instant noodle*cough* Indomie *cough* and ramen *cough* for two days. I'm not a healthy person but I know it wasn't healthy. Especially when you added some rice into it (I'm an Indonesian. What do you expect? kkkk). So, one day, I watched a re-run episode of 'Junior's Master Chef' and they were cooking pasta. Trust me, those kids really can cook *0* They made really mouthwatering pasta dishes and I was like, okay, let's have pasta for dinner. I have some spaghetti and the instant bolognese sauce. But the Bolognese sauce is kinda sour, while I crave for something savory. Then I remember that I've eaten that kind of pasta, I just didn't know the name. So, after spending some times with uncle Google, I finally came into this site called 'reseppasta.com' and the dishes I've been looking for is called 'Aglio e Olio' which mean garlic and oil. And yes, ladies and gentlemen, the ingredients are literally only garlic and oil. The recipe I found on the site was actually added some anchovies, chilli powder, pepper and peterselli. You can find the original recipe here . I made several changes with it. I didn't add anchovy (I don't like anchovies and I don't have any anchovy) and instead of peterselli, I added some celery instead. Oh, and added some onions too :)

The three dishes I tried to cook above made me realize, cooking is fun. A good cook is a person who's happily cook to make people happy, I'm still on level 'I cook to make myself happy'. That's why I only cook dishes that I wanna eat. But hey... It's just the beginning. Who knows, right. I'll try to cook some food again next week (hopefully) and post it here. Until then.. Ciao!
